Commercial of the Week 12/12 Burger King Whopper Freakout
This week’s commercial of the week goes to the new Burger King Whopper Freakout series. I couldn’t find some of the 30 second ads that have been hitting the airwaves but instead found this entertaining 7 minute video which has most of the footage shown in the series of advertisements.
With fast food chains constantly advertising new offerings and promotions, it was refreshing to see the Whopper freakout commercials. I am a proponent of any commercial that uses real footage of people’s reactions to awkward and staged situations. The premise for this advertisement is that one Burger King, decides not to discontinue the Whopper for a full day, and tapes the reactions of their customers. Towards the end of this video, customers who order a whopper are actually given Big Mac’s and Wendy’s burgers to their dismay. With so much real heartfelt love for the whopper, its sure to make a contingent of viewers go “when was the last time I had a whopper? Those things are good.”

Yeah.. i hate commercials that try and make other companies look bad. It shows no class; can’t they be a little more creative? What is this… some guy in the commercial says “I hate McDonalds”. yeah, that’s great. And also, the Apple commercials with Mac Vs PC… those are horrible too. I mean I guess they can be funny somtimes but still, I don’t know if they do it out of desperation or what, but I think it’s pretty lame. Anyways, just my two cents
