Microsoft Songsmith- The absolute worst piece of marketing EVER

This has been making the rounds the blogosphere and is yet another nail in the coffin in Microsoft’s marketing machine which seems to be the whipping boy of the blogosphere including myself. But below is a new low. I mean this is just painfully horrible. It’s almost clear someone wanted to get fired over this. It made me eyes water and my other friend couldn’t stomach it and turned it off after 24 seconds. The best part is that although the software is only for PC’s, the laptop used is actually a Mac with stickers over the Apple log. That’s a pretty big error, but it pales in comparison to everything else that oozes the potent stench of train wreck marketing. What the hell is the target market for this product? Any real musician would rather do covers of Lou Bega then use this product. Is it little girls? Advertising jingle guys whose backs are against the wall? Guys who don’t want to write anymore love songs? Either way this is just a horrible product and a horribly marketed product.
