Running The Sahara= Awesome Documentary

I was lucky enough to catch the documentary, Running the Sahara on Show Time today. Saw most of it and have to say it was probably one of the best things I have seen on television.

Below is a trailer

If you don’t have the time to check out the trailer, in a nutshell its the story of 3 guys trying to run across Africa through the Sahara desert. Their plan is to go 50 miles a day for about 100 days with no days off, running through 6 countries, some of which are not keen on this idea. This is going to be on Show Time a lot this week. It’s in HD and has a Planet Earth/March of the Penguins type of natural imagery that’s very enjoyable. The amount of weather, political, geographical, logistical, and social hurdles in the way of completing this is absolutely insane. Let’s not forget the actual running component of this too. Check it out. Matt Damon was the producer and does a pretty solid job narrating.
